How to Take Your Measurements
- Bust: Wrap a soft measuring tape around your back and across the fullest part of your breasts. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor.
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline. This is usually located just above your belly button. Do not suck in your stomach.
- Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks.
Tip: Do not pull the tape measure too tight. It should sit comfortably on your skin without digging in.
The Four Main Body Shapes
- Hourglass: Your bust and hips are relatively the same size, and your waist is well-defined and significantly narrower than both.
- Pear (Triangle): Your hips are wider than your bust, and you have a well-defined waist.
- Inverted Triangle (Apple): Your bust and/or shoulders are significantly wider than your hips. You may carry more weight around your midsection.
- Rectangle (Straight): Your bust, waist, and hips are fairly uniform in size without a deeply defined waistline.
